REGISTRATION
Minimum age for Winter Folkstyle Wrestling is 4 years old by August 1st.
The Folkstyle Wrestling season runs through March with practices days on Monday and Thursday evenings with optional training or competition opportunities on Fridays. Tournaments are typically on Sundays. Wrestling shoes are required and must be purchased for the athlete prior to participation.
SKILL GROUPS
Open - Advanced (3+ years experience)
The Folkstyle Wreslting will begin in November for the open group and practice from 7:30-8:30pm.. This group consists of wrestlers with three or more years of experience and kids new to the sport that are 12 years or older and in heavier weight brackets. Basic techniques and concepts are regularly reinforced, but more complex combinations and counter moves are included to master the skills necessary to compete against higher caliber competition. Practices are typically longer and more physically demanding.
Novice - Intermediate/Beginner (1-3 years experience)
The Folkstyle Wrestling season will begin in November for the Novice group and practice from 6:30-7:30pm..The Intermediate group consists of wrestlers with 1-3 years of experience and a wide variety of weights and ages. Focus is on developing the basic techniques and concepts and introducing more complex moves necessary to be competitive.

The number of tournaments listed above is an estimate and subject to change. Wrestlers will also have the opportunity to wrestle in dual tournaments hosted by individual clubs or EAA. More information on dual tournaments will be provided as the schedules are set throughout the season.
