REGISTRATION
Registration is closed for the 2022-2023 Folkstyle Wrestling season.
The Folkstyle Wrestling season begins November 1, with tournaments starting in December and running through March. Practices days will be Monday and Thursday evenings with optional training or competition opportunities on Fridays. Tournaments are typically on Sundays. Wrestling shoes are required and must be purchased for the athlete prior to participation.
Minimum age for Winter Folkstyle Wrestling is 4 years old by August 1st.
SKILL GROUPS
Advanced
The Advanced group consists of wrestlers with three or more years of experience and kids new to the sport that are 12 years or older and in heavier weight brackets. Basic techniques and concepts are regularly reinforced, but more complex combinations and counter moves are included to master the skills necessary to compete against higher caliber competition. Practices are typically longer and more physically demanding.
Intermediate
The Intermediate group consists of wrestlers with 1-3 years of experience and a wide variety of weights and ages. Focus is on developing the basic techniques and concepts and introducing more complex moves necessary to be competitive. Practices are longer and are more physically demanding.
Beginner
The Beginner group consists of wrestlers with less than 1 years of experience, new to the sport of wrestling and typically the lightest weights and youngest ages. Focus is on learning basic wrestling concepts and several fundamental skills. Practices are not as intense and serve as an introduction into wrestling.

The number of tournaments listed above is an estimate and subject to change. Wrestlers will also have the opportunity to wrestle in dual tournaments hosted by individual clubs or EAA. More information on dual tournaments will be provided as the schedules are set throughout the season.
