ELKHORN, NE, June 27, 2022 – Elkhorn Athletic Association (EAA) broke ground on the MD West ONE Sports Complex on Thursday, June 23rd.

“Congratulations to Elkhorn Athletic Association and the City of Valley on the groundbreaking of the MD West One Sports Complex,” said Nebraska Governor, Pete Ricketts. “The complex will allow Nebraska teams to compete in tournaments locally rather than having to travel. It will also attract visiting teams to the area, benefiting local retailers, restaurants, and hotels. The complex is a great example of the spirit of partnership that is helping to grow Nebraska.”

The groundbreaking took place at the future site of the MD West ONE Sports Complex, which will be located in Valley, NE, near 264th and Ida Streets. The community of sponsors, construction and engineering teams, community leaders, EAA supporters, EAA athletes, and more came together to celebrate the mission of building a complex for all kids to play. After several years of planning and hard work, this was a joyous celebration of making this dream a reality.

“I am excited to see the groundbreaking of the MD West ONE sports complex, and the potential it has to expand economic growth throughout our district,” said Congressman Don Bacon. “This partnership between the City of Valley and the Elkhorn Athletics Association will bring much needed facilities to our country’s youth. I look forward to the completion of this project.”

The MD West ONE Sports Complex will also provide space for a wide range of year-round activities for individuals and families, such as walking paths, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
